J and L, joined. The ampersand is set in stone like everything else, never left as a gap, because it is doing the work of the whole piece. Two letters side by side are just two letters; the ampersand is what says they belong together.

The J descends below the line and the L sits square on it, so the two are balanced by stone size rather than by height. Set onto cream suede in the same amethyst, citrine, peridot and blue topaz as our sacred pieces, framed in solid wood, standing on its own engraved base.
