Ek Onkar drawn in thirty six natural peridots, framed in walnut and standing on its own engraved base. The cooler and more formal of our two Ek Onkar pieces, given for a new house, a wedding or Gurpurab.

ੴ, the opening of the Mool Mantar. Peridot is a clear spring green, cooler and quieter than the citrine version. It holds its colour evenly in daylight and darkens slightly under lamplight, which makes the stroke read crisply against cream suede from across a room.

Ek Onkar is the first character of the Guru Granth Sahib and the beginning of the Mool Mantar. It means one, and it is written as a single continuous stroke, which is why the numeral and the character are inseparable. Laying it in stone means holding that unbroken line across thirty six separate gems.

Every stone is placed by hand onto suede, framed in solid wood, and set on its own engraved stand. Suited to a home, a gurdwara room, an office, or as a Gurpurab gift, a Sikh wedding gift, or a griha pravesh gift for a Sikh family.

In the tradition, peridot is a stone of Budh, associated with intellect, clarity and clear speech. This is a traditional association rather than a claim about what the stone will do.

This is an object for a room, not a stone to be worn. Made in small numbers in New Delhi, certified, insured and gift boxed.
